[Yakima Democrats] Hillary Clinton Tops Yakima Democratic Poll

Getting 30 percent of the ballots, Hillary Clinton emerged as the 
favorite presidential candidate of Yakima County Democrats in an 
unofficial poll taken Sunday during the group’s holiday party at El 
Porton Restaurant.
John Edwards, with 20 percent, was second choice while Barak Obama and 
Bill Richardson tied for third place, each with 17 percent.
The 42 attendees scattered their votes among the seven active Democratic 
presidential candidates and even tossed in one for Al Gore for vice 
president.
Obama, who topped Hillary Clinton 22 to 13 in a poll of Kittitas County 
Democrats a couple weeks ago, was the Yakima Democrats’ pick for the 
vice presidential slot on the 2008 ticket.
The Yakima presidential vote: Hillary 11, Edwards 6, Obama 5, Richardson 
5, Kucinich 2, and Dodd 1.
For vice president: Obama 7, Richardson 5, Edwards, 3, Joe Biden 3, 
Clinton 3, Kucinich 2, Al Gore 1.
County chair Paul George explained that total presidential ballots did 
not equal 42 as some attendees were uncertain choosing to await results 
of the Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina caucuses.
