Cell 509/307-0424 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE YAKIMA OBAMA DELEGATE WINS COIN FLIP AND NATIONAL CONVENTION TRIP AT DEMOCRATIC CAUCUS SATURDAY Yakima lawyer Aaron Case won a coin flip after a runoff ended in a 33-33 tie to nab one of the two Barack Obama delegate seats up for election at a Democratic caucus in Yakima?s Eisenhower High School Saturday. Case?s victory over teen-ager Dan Pevin, the student body president of Wenatchee High School, was one of the high points at the 4th Congressional District Caucus. Attendees also nominated Kennewick Lawyer George Fearing as their congressional candidate. The daylong gathering attracted more than 200 party members representing all eight countries in the 4th CD and included 89 seated Obama delegates and 57 seated delegates supporting Hillary Clinton. Patricia Whitefoot of White Swan won the other Obama seat to the National Convention in Denver by prevailing over Jennifer Estroff of Ellensburg in a runoff. Estroff will go to Denver as an Obama alternate. Brad Taylor of Prosser will go to Denver in August as the 4th CD?s lone Clinton delegate. He won on the second ballot. A total of 51 delegates and nine alternates were elected at the nine Congressional District caucuses held in Washington Saturday. Twenty-nine other national delegates and four alternates will be elected at the State Convention in Spokane June 13-15. Pat Notter of Wenatchee was elected as the 4th CD?s presidential elector in a runoff with Kendall Miller. The electors will meet in Olympia in mid-December to cast Washington?s votes in the Electoral College.
