[Yakima Democrats] Volunteers Doorbell 4, 197 Households for Ybarra

    Vickie Ybarra's campaign for the State Legislature got a huge boost 
Saturday when 75 young Democrats riding here on the Washington Bus 
joined 75 Yakima volunteers for an afternoon of doorbelling the Greater 
Yakima Area.
    When it ended around 4 p.m., the volunteers had visited 4,197 homes, 
talking up Vickie's qualifications for a 14th LD seat or leaving 
literature when no one was home. It was a record mass doorbelling event 
in the district.
    The bus arrived at Carpenters' Hall at 11 a.m., allowing time for 
lunch and an organizational run-through. A Mexican dinner,  catered by 
El Porton, awaited the doorbellers when they returned.
    The Yakima excursion was the 6th time this campaign that the 
Washington Bus volunteers had visited a Legislative District to doorbell 
for candidates in tight races.
    Ybarra, Chris Ramirez and Jesse Farias and their Republican 
opponents will appear in a candidates' forum at 5:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 
20 in the Seasons, 101 North Naches Ave.
