Monday, Oct. 27 - please attend this month'sYakima Central Committee
meeting from 7 to 8:30 p.m.in the 1st Street Conference Room. Listen to
a report on the highly successful mass canvass Saturday, Oct. 18 for
Vickie Ybarra by 75 Valley Democrats and 75 Washington Bus riders.
There will be other campaign updates and a report by field manager
Zach Wurtz on activities at the coordinated campaign office. Still
available at the office are Obama and Gregoire signs, Obama T-Shirts and
campaign buttons - *all at reduced prices* - while they last. Because so
many Democratic campaign signs have been stolen, the party will replace
one per victim. Just stop by the office at11th & Yakima Aves. and see Zach.
Chair Sara Purdey will review plans for a Victory 2008 party planned
for Tuesday evening Nov. 4th from 7 p.m., in the Howard Johnson Plaza
Hotel, 9 North 9th Street. It will be a free event co-hosted by the
Central Committee, other country Democratic organizations, some
candidates and friends..
The celebration will feature two big screen TVs for nightlong
campaign updates, a no host bar, hors d'oeuvres, a patriotic cake and
complimentary beer from a special stand. Democrats and supporters from
throughout the Valley are cordially invited.
Throughout the week, volunteers will be manning the eight telephones
at the office phone-banking for all candidates.
Other volunteers will continue canvassing and doorbelling through
Nov. 3 with the goal of reaching every undecided voter to help elect
Barack Obama, Governor Gregoire, George Fearing, Vickie Ybarra, Jesse
Farias and Chris Ramirez.
The way the landscape is trending blue, we should have much to
celebrate Nov. 4. Join us at the party.
Paul George
